Aspen Creek PK-8 houses
three center-based programs
for students with high functioning Autism. Each program is staffed with a highly qualified special education teacher, paraeducators who support students as they are included in general education classes, and special service providers (school psychologist, speech-language pathologist, occupational therapist, and physical therapist (when appropriate). Additionally, Board-Certified Behavior Analysts provide programmatic design rooted in the analysis of behavior data in our programs.
From Jordan: As we move through the 21st Century, we are always learning new ways that we can use technology in our classroom to improve student outcomes in addition to all of the possible applications we could be implementing to support our students' specific needs. We are, as an ILC staff, at varying degrees of technological prowess, and none of us are, by any means, experts.
We have a clear vision of how we might move our own learning and equipment further into the technological age and the funding from the Zavy Green fundraiser will help us accomplish our vision. Monies raised will go toward staff training through attendance at the
InnEdCo Conference
, Colorado’s premier conference for supporting educators in the use of technology. Each educator needs $345 in order to attend the conference; we want to help them send as many of their educators as possible. Then, following our learning, we will make an informed purchase of new equipment that will best allow us to provide tech-based accommodations for our students in an effortless way.
